Chapter 50: Why Are You Taking Advantage of Me
He rinsed the plastic basin clean, filled it with water, and brought it to the window.
He Huanhuan stood inside, taking the basin of water into the room. She glanced at herself, then at Han Mo.
“You, take off your clothes.”
Han Mo’s suit had been torn when he was hit, and the chest area was stained with a fair amount of blood.
It was unwearable anyway, so she might as well use it as a rag.
She just needed a rag, but Han Mo didn’t know that. Han Mo thought...
Without a word, he took off his suit jacket and handed it to He Huanhuan. As soon as she wet the jacket, her eyes suddenly lit up!
Holy cow!
Abs!
Eight of them!
The hazy moonlight shone by the window, the faintly visible abs right in front of her.
Firm, crisscrossed ridges...
She couldn’t help but purse her lips tightly: “What are you doing?”
Han Mo looked down at her: “Didn’t you tell me to take off my clothes?”
He Huanhuan glanced at his abs again, her face blushing involuntarily: “I told you to take off your jacket. Why are you taking off your shirt?”
“Then I misunderstood.”
His long, slender fingers picked up the shirt and slipped it back on.
One by one, the buttons were fastened over his abs, slowly hiding the beautiful sight away...
He Huanhuan couldn’t tear her gaze away from him at all.
Damn rich guy, his body was so much better than those scrawny little punks!
Every scrawny little punk back then was just a bag of bones, totally unappetizing.
No wonder she never wanted to fall in love before. Who wants to suffer?
She blinked and said to Han Mo, “Um, it’s not cold out. Take off your clothes and rinse yourself with tap water, it’ll be more comfortable.”
She swore she didn’t want to see his abs.
She just thought people should stay clean, really.
“Alright.”
Han Mo turned and walked to the faucet, took off his shirt, soaked it, then balled it up and wiped his body bit by bit.
Water droplets slid down the line of his shoulders, rolled over his sharply defined abs, and slowly disappeared into his pants.
Ah! Those damn pants!
“You can...”
He Huanhuan abruptly shut her mouth. Oh no!
Guiltily, she turned around: “Um, I wasn’t staring at you! I was just trying to talk to you!”
A faint smile lifted the corner of Han Mo’s mouth, and his voice carried a full dose of temptation: “You can look. I don’t mind.”
He Huanhuan blustered: “I didn’t want to look at you. Your body’s just average anyway.”
“Then I’ll work on it more next time.”
He Huanhuan instinctively turned her head: “Don’t overdo it! Light muscle is the most perfect!”
Her gaze was suddenly grabbed, forcefully drawing closer: “You like it?”
He Huanhuan’s eyes darted away frantically. She clenched the suit jacket in her hands: “Um, after you wash up, come in and get to work. I’m already sleepy...”
“Okay.”
Han Mo supported himself with one hand on the windowsill and vaulted into the room. He leaned close to He Huanhuan and asked, “What needs to be done?”
The damp, steamy air clung to his body and washed over He Huanhuan, carrying a rusty, watery scent that made her head feel a little dizzy.
“Wipe the dust off the bed. Tonight, we’ll just make do and sleep... no, wait, tonight we’ll just make do and rest...”
She felt her face grow burning hot, so hot she couldn’t even speak clearly.
Han Mo reached out and took the suit jacket: “I’ll handle it. Do you want to go wash your face and freshen up?”
“Huh? Me?”
He Huanhuan’s face instantly turned crimson. Was he going to look at her?
Wasn’t this moving a bit too fast?
Han Mo reached out and brushed her hair: “Don’t overthink it. There’s dust on your face. Wiping it clean will be better.”
“Oh, right, right...”
He Huanhuan fled out of the room as if escaping. What on earth was she thinking!
She turned on the faucet and looked at the shirt in her hands, hesitating.
It was just a very ordinary white shirt, but...
The cool fabric brushed against the skin on her neck, and she caught a scent of blood that wasn’t hers.
A sweet, coppery smell rushed into her nose, instantly pulling her back to an hour before.
He had been lying on her back, his breaths brushing over her nape again and again.
Carrying that thick, sweet-iron smell.
At the time, she hadn’t felt much of anything. But for some reason, recalling it now sent goosebumps all over her body.
What was wrong? She felt like she was getting sick.
Her whole skin tingled and felt cold.
She was definitely sick.
“Huanhuan, is this clean enough?”
Han Mo’s voice struck like a thunderbolt, instantly breaking through her discomfort.
The cold feeling vanished in a second. She was fine!
Guiltily, she walked over to check. The old wooden bed had been wiped until it shone, and the water in the plastic basin had turned as black as sesame paste.
“That’s enough. It’s not like we’re staying here long.”
When dawn came, they’d go earn some money, then find a cheap motel that didn’t check IDs.
She hung up Han Mo’s shirt to dry, and they both lay down on the bed, ready to sleep.
The old wooden bed wasn’t big, just enough room for two people.
“Are you cold?”
She asked softly.
Han Mo shook his head, but it was too dark for He Huanhuan to see.
She ventured, “Do you want to scoot over closer to me and sleep?”
“Alright.”
A warm body pressed against her back, and hot breaths fell on her hair, making her own breathing feel warmer too.
“Aren’t you cold, then?”
She could feel the heat radiating off his body.
“A little cold.”
“Oh...”
The two silhouettes clung together like this until they slowly fell asleep.
Once she was asleep, He Huanhuan became much bolder. As the temperature dropped in the latter half of the night, she instinctively latched onto the warm source beside her.
She nuzzled her head into his chest, letting out a satisfied sigh.
But poor Han Mo stayed awake with his eyes wide open until the middle of the night.
He couldn’t sleep, and he didn’t dare to.
Just as he was about to close his eyes and doze off, He Huanhuan’s hand wandered over to his abs.
She rubbed them while giggling to herself.
He even wondered if she was actually asleep or not.
But then that mischievous hand started moving further down, and he grabbed her hand immediately: “No can do.”
“Mmm~”
He Huanhuan grumbled unhappily with her eyes closed.
Han Mo had no choice but to keep holding her hand, preventing her from causing mischief.
But even as he held her hand, her leg started acting up.
She threw her left leg over his and wiggled it restlessly.
Han Mo shifted, trying to escape her harassment.
But her leg pinned him down forcefully, and the woman on him mumbled vaguely: “Don’t move!”
He froze instantly. Her leg was back up in no time, and both hands securely wrapped around him.
One arm hugged his bicep, the other hand kept stroking his abs.
Very clear division of labor.
He sighed quietly. Fine, fine. Let it be.
He stayed awake until dawn, when the village echoed with the shrill crowing of roosters. Only then did He Huanhuan murmur, turn over, and sleep over by the edge of the bed.
Han Mo closed his eyes in resignation, then opened them again a moment later.
If she wasn’t hugging him, how could he fall asleep...
He thought for a moment, then reached out and pulled He Huanhuan into his arms. Finally, closing his eyes, he fell asleep peacefully.
After a few hours of broken sleep, he opened his eyes to find He Huanhuan staring at him with puffed cheeks: “How can you take advantage of me like this!”
