Chapter 3: How to use a smart toilet

When the Street-Smart Girl Transmigrates into a Novel About the Real and Fake Heiresses · Licensed edition

A thunderous question left five people speechless.

Gu Jingchen racked his brains for a moment before asking incredulously, "Are you talking about the BYD I’m thinking of?"

He Huanhuan gave him a once-over. This guy wasn’t bad-looking, but he wasn’t exactly sharp.

"Is there another BYD in the world?"

Apparently not.

Gu Jinghan pointed at the stretched Maybach behind her. "Do you know what kind of car this is?"

He Huanhuan curled her lip in disgust. "Looks like a stretched hot dog. What car it is ain’t my damn business."

What a wild attitude. Gu Jinghan couldn’t help but give her a thumbs-up.

"Huanhuan, your hair..."

Jiang Yulan wanted to ask what was going on with He Huanhuan’s hair.

It was a mess of colors, nothing like a proper young lady.

"Pretty cool, right?"

He Huanhuan touched her hair contentedly. These bright shades? Totally her vibe!

She pulled the leftover hair dye from her pocket and asked Jiang Yulan, "You like it? If you do, I’ll do yours too. It’ll look awesome!"

Jiang Yulan glanced at the dye—its packaging was flimsy, the colors on it faded and blurry.

The moment it came near, a harsh, cheap fragrance hit her nostrils.

The sickly sweet smell was overpowering, making her nose sting.

Good heavens!

Would putting this stuff on her head make her sick?

Forget about being polite; she was ready to drag He Huanhuan to the hospital for a full checkup.

"Where did you buy this? Is it safe? Is it made properly? Does it meet EU standards?"

He Huanhuan patted her chest confidently. "Totally safe! One tube cost me ten bucks!"

If Old Tang hadn’t been with her, she wouldn’t have splurged on this brand.

She’d originally wanted the five-buck kind, but Old Tang absolutely refused, so she reluctantly went for the ten-buck one.

"Ten bucks?"

Gu Chacha frowned and stepped back several paces. Ten-buck hair dye—was that even fit for human use?

"Sis, why would you buy such cheap dye? If others find out, they’ll think our family’s gone bankrupt..."

Jiang City was small. If other families heard that their daughter used ten-buck hair dye, they’d assume they were in financial trouble.

As she spoke, Gu Chengye’s face indeed turned cold.

"Throw it away right now. Don’t use such cheap stuff ever again. You’re dragging down the Gu family’s reputation!"

"Throw it away?!"

He Huanhuan howled. "I’ll throw you out if you’re not careful!"

She had dyed her hair eighteen different colors. Eighteen tubes. One hundred and eighty bucks!

And she’d only used them once. Throw them away? Was he asking for a fight?

"What did you say?"

Her insolent tone made Gu Chengye’s face freeze.

He had run the family business for decades. No one had dared talk to him like that in years!

"Huanhuan, apologize to your father quickly. Say you didn’t mean it."

Seeing her husband angry, Jiang Yulan tugged at He Huanhuan, urging her to apologize.

He Huanhuan ignored her completely.

She clutched the hair dye and asked Gu Chengye, "Do you know how hard it is to earn a hundred and eighty?"

She shook her leg like a tough street kid and tapped her head. "A thick beer bottle smacked right on the skull—you know how much that pays?"

"Twenty bucks!"

"To make a hundred eighty, I gotta take nine beer bottles to the dome! And you want me to throw this away? I’ll bash you with a beer bottle if you keep at it!"

"What did you say?"

Gu Chengye’s heart clenched. "You’ve been taking beatings for money?"

A beer bottle to the head for just twenty bucks?

His daughter, Gu Chengye’s daughter, had been living like this?

For twenty years!

His eyes reddened. "Huanhuan, your father... you’ve suffered..."

"Pfft!"

He Huanhuan waved her hand. "That’s nothing!"

Gu Chacha glanced at her two brothers. Sure enough, guilt flashed across their faces.

What a He Huanhuan!

What a shameless, pitiful wretch!

So all her scheming had just paved the way for her?

She dug her nails into her palm and suppressed her resentment.

"It’s all my fault. If it weren’t for me... my sister wouldn’t have endured so many years of hardship..."

She apologized with teary eyes, drawing her family’s attention away from He Huanhuan.

She looked at He Huanhuan pitifully and asked, "Sis, do you resent me a lot?"

Jiang Yulan took the bait and immediately let go of He Huanhuan to hold her hand and comfort her.

"Chacha, how could this be your fault! It was your mother and I who weren’t careful enough back then, causing Huanhuan to suffer so much..."

"But Mom, my sister has suffered so much, while I’ve lived in comfort at home..."

She kept glancing at He Huanhuan as she spoke. She was sure He Huanhuan would get angry.

If she just lost her temper and lashed out...

To her surprise, He Huanhuan ignored her completely and turned to walk into the house. "Which room is mine?"

Jiang Yulan immediately followed. "It’s on the first floor. It was sudden, so your mother quickly cleared out a room. Just make do for now..."

"Oh my gosh!!!"

He Huanhuan whirled around, her eyes sparkling as she asked Jiang Yulan, "Is this our house?"

Jiang Yulan smiled and nodded. "Yes, it’s ours."

"Oh my gosh!!!"

He Huanhuan asked again in disbelief. "And I’m living here from now on?"

Even Gu Chengye laughed. "Silly girl, you’re a daughter of this house. If you don’t live here, where else would you go?"

"Sis, are you..."

"Where’s my room? Take me to see it!"

He Huanhuan grabbed Jiang Yulan and dashed back inside!

Her room was at the far end of the first floor. The Gu family estate had two main buildings.

One was the main building where the family lived, and the other was the servants’ quarters.

The main building had five floors. The first floor was the living room and a casual lounge for family gatherings.

The second floor was where Gu Chengye and his wife lived.

The third floor belonged to Gu Chacha alone.

The fourth floor was Second Brother Gu Jinghan’s space.

The fifth floor was Eldest Brother Gu Jingchen’s space.

Each person enjoyed a luxurious five hundred square meters.

And He Huanhuan had been assigned a guest room on the first floor.

Technically a guest room, but people like them rarely hosted overnight guests. If Gu Chacha’s friends came, they’d stay on her floor with her.

So the guest room had sat unused for years, only cleared out in the last two days.

Gu Chacha smirked and followed them to the first-floor guest room.

The room was barely fifty square meters, and the bathroom didn’t even have a bathtub.

She couldn’t wait to see He Huanhuan’s face when she opened the door. She’d be so disappointed, right?

Disappointed? Then throw a fit! Go crazy!

Let her lose her temper until Mom and Dad got sick of her!

The door slowly creaked open, and Gu Chacha’s anticipation rose. She kept her eyes locked on He Huanhuan.

Here it comes, here it comes...

He Huanhuan’s expression changed. She was about to explode, she was going to...

"Oh my gosh!!!"

He Huanhuan darted into the room like a shot. "This huge room! And it’s all mine?"

She launched herself onto the bed, rolling back and forth. "Such a big bed! I get to sleep alone? So luxurious!"

Without waiting for a reply, she leapt up again and sprinted to the bathroom. "Oh my god! A smart toilet!!"

A multicolored head popped out, her rosy little face looking at them: "How do you use a smart toilet?"

Gu Jingchen's lashes instantly grew damp—his own sister didn't even know how to use a smart toilet!

He gently turned his head away, trying to secretly wipe his tears.

But He Huanhuan caught his little move at a glance: "Oh, come on! If you don't know, you don't know! Why cry? Let's learn together!"

She smiled brightly and reached out to Gu Jingchen: "Come over, let's learn together."

"Okay."

Gu Jingchen stood up and walked into the bathroom. He crouched down beside her, seriously studying how to use the smart toilet.
