Chapter 80: What about places that loved ones cannot see

The Villainess Marries the Gentle Second Male Lead · Licensed edition

Everything was exactly the same as usual.

An Ling and Shen Linyan took the elevator upstairs together, opened the door, changed their shoes, and then naturally finished dinner.

During this time, they even discussed the future arrangement of the house after Huihui arrived, planning to place Huihui's little nest next to the floor-to-ceiling windows in the living room.

The atmosphere was as peaceful as before.

But An Ling was still certain of one thing.

She had said the wrong thing and made Shen Linyan upset.

Although the man didn't say anything and even acted just like before, An Ling just felt that something was off.

She leaned against the sofa, looking down and idly scrolling through videos, but in reality, she was secretly glancing at the man beside her from the corner of her eye.

The heating was on in the living room. The man sat on the sofa with his long legs crossed, his eyes lowered as he quietly read the documents on his tablet. His side profile was elegant and noble. The sleeves of his shirt were rolled up, revealing the faint, powerful lines of veins on his forearms. A few buttons at his collar were undone, faintly revealing a silver chain inside.

Shen Linyan wore a necklace?

This thought flashed through An Ling's mind.

Wait, that wasn't the most important thing right now.

She quietly shifted her body, tilting her head to rest it on the man's shoulder.

Shen Linyan's movements paused. He looked away from the documents, turned his head to glance at her, and then continued reading.

See!

It was exactly like this!

Although it felt similar to usual, it was actually vastly different!

An Ling paused, bit her lip, and continued to nuzzle against the man's shoulder before lifting her head.

As soon as Shen Linyan lowered his head, he met a pair of clear, clean eyes. The woman looked at him eagerly, her long and thick eyelashes making her look both well-behaved and alluring.

He lowered his eyes and looked at her for a moment, then set the tablet aside and reached out to wrap his arm around her waist. "What's wrong, Madam?"

An Ling hugged his neck and blinked.

"Shen Linyan, are you mad at me?" The woman's voice was clean, the ending notes lifting slightly with a soft tone, her hot breath dusting his chin.

Shen Linyan's movements paused slightly, the emotions in his eyes loosening. He smiled and sighed, "No."

His eyes curved as he touched her face. "I just didn't know that blind dates were like this. You did nothing wrong, Madam."

An Ling definitely didn't believe such words. She sat up and straddled his lap.

"Shen Linyan, you don't have to unconditionally say I'm right just because I did it. Didn't I tell you to follow your own heart?"

If that were the case, he would want Wen Yuche to disappear from this city tomorrow.

The very existence of this person already infuriated him.

What right did that person have to be her blind date, to openly walk side by side with An Ling, have An Ling pick out things for him, and even see another side of An Ling?

These things should have been his.

They should have belonged only to him.

Shen Linyan lifted his head, his pitch-black eyes staring at her. His breathing was a bit heavy, his voice husky:

"I don't like you buying him a suit, Madam. I have only ever bought things for you."

Even if he hadn't liked An Ling before, he had still given her the best of everything, because An Ling was his only wife.

Even if this didn't truly represent love, and even if he knew there was nothing wrong with what An Ling did, he did not want to share this treatment with anyone else.

An Ling had guessed it was because of this.

She cupped the man's face and took the initiative to lean down and kiss him. "Alright, alright, I know I said the wrong thing."

She leaned close to his ear and whispered, "How could that suit compare to your tie? I just picked it out randomly, I didn't even really look at it. But your tie, I spent a long time picking it out specifically for you."

Seeing that the corners of the man's mouth were still tight, An Ling lowered her head again and kissed the corner of his lips, following his lead. "Next time I won't... uh, no, I will only buy things for you from now on, okay?"

Shen Linyan's gaze fell into her eyes. His Adam's apple bobbed, and he let out a soft "Mhm," saying, "Okay."

Her mind was entirely focused on coaxing her angry ex-husband, so much so that An Ling completely failed to realize that these possessive words did not fit the setting of a gentle second male lead at all.

She smiled in relief. Seeing the man leaning in for a kiss, she was about to close her eyes when she suddenly remembered something. She opened her eyes again, puffing her cheeks. "Oh right, you're the one angry, but I haven't even gotten angry at you yet."

"What?"

An Ling looked at him, blushing as she muttered softly, "Did you kiss my neck the night before last? There's a mark."

Shen Linyan paused slightly upon hearing this, his gaze falling on the woman's snow-white neck. "Where?"

"Right here."

An Ling brushed her hair aside, voluntarily revealing the back of her neck to him.

The young woman was wearing a soft, pink V-neck sweater today, making her look entirely soft and clean. The moment she lowered her head, the necklace on her neck swayed gently, faintly revealing her delicate collarbones. That dazzling patch of fair skin glowed with a fine luster under the light, tempting one to pluck it.

Shen Linyan's pupils stiffened slightly. He forced himself to look away, the tips of his ears hidden in his hair flushing with an imperceptible redness.

The woman's confused voice came to his ears, "Did you see it?"

Seeing the band-aid on the woman's neck, his Adam's apple rolled up and down. He reached out, his fingertips gently stroking over it as he said softly, "Sorry, I might have accidentally used a bit too much force."

"My brother saw it yesterday, but thankfully I managed to fool him."

An Ling let her hair down again and spoke with a smile, completely oblivious to the dark undercurrents in the man's eyes.

She seriously emphasized, "In the future, you can't leave marks when you kiss. It's a good thing my brother was the one who saw it. If my parents had seen it, I really wouldn't be able to explain it. They would definitely ask..."

Before she could finish her sentence, she was suddenly interrupted by the man's soft voice.

"Then what if I kiss places they can't see?"

An Ling's expression instantly froze. She opened her mouth hesitantly, "...What?"

The next second, her waist was gently pulled in by a powerful arm.

Before An Ling could react, her eyes suddenly widened. A hand nimbly slipped in from the hem of her sweater. The man's scorching palm pressed against her slender waist, carrying a layer of rough, thin calluses.

The pads of his fingers rubbed against her delicate skin, sending a shudder through her entire body. A fine trembling spread from her waist and abdomen to every part of her limbs.

An Ling's face flushed bright red, and her breath caught. She hurriedly pressed down on his arm, stammering, "You..."

The man lifted his head, his hot, heavy breath dusting her neck. He kissed along her jawline bit by bit, his eyes dark and burning with desire as he hoarsely repeated.

"If it's in places they can't see, can I leave marks?"
