Chapter 1: Waking Up Two Years in the Future
An Ling was jolted awake by a burst of raucous noise.
Frowning, she struggled to open her eyes. The overhead lights were glaring, and the flashing multicolored strobe lights made her eyes ache. Bottles of alcohol were scattered haphazardly, and the pungent stench of cheap liquor permeated the air.
Where was she? Wasn't she sleeping at home?
An Ling tried to stand up, but a wave of dizziness hit her.
She stumbled and fell back onto the sofa, rubbing her aching head.
A man's icy voice sounded from above her.
"An Ling, I'm warning you for the last time. Stop playing these petty tricks. If there's a next time, I'll make you pay the price."
She looked up in bewilderment.
Who was this guy? Why was he acting so pretentious?
"Hold on a second, give me a moment to process."
Pressing her throbbing temples, An Ling looked up again, only then noticing that the private room was full of people.
In front of her stood four or five burly men in black suits, standing bolt upright.
Was she kidnapped?
An Ling hesitantly looked at the man who seemed to be the leader, "...Do you want money?"
At these words, the man was momentarily taken aback.
His gaze grew increasingly disgusted, his tone freezing cold.
"An Ling, don't be so cheap. A woman like you, I wouldn't sleep with you even if you threw yourself at me. You disgust me."
"..."
He didn't seem like a kidnapper, but rather a psychopath.
She sneered and staggered to her feet in her high heels, trying to look for her bag and phone.
"Don't flatter yourself. You're not even fit to carry my shoes. What's your name? Which family are you from?"
Under the dim lights, the woman bent over to rummage across the sofa. Her burgundy silk dress accentuated the slender curve of her waist, and her raven-black hair cascaded over her shoulders, her skin as pale and flawless as porcelain.
Her beautiful face was flushed from the alcohol, looking delicate and intensely alluring, bearing an anger and disdain that didn't seem faked.
Was she really that drunk? She didn't even recognize him?
Lu Jingshen frowned. Just as he was about to say something, hurried footsteps echoed from outside the door.
His assistant rushed over and whispered something to him.
Lu Jingshen's expression instantly darkened.
An Ling was still looking for her phone when her arm was suddenly yanked hard.
Hissing in pain, she turned her head. "Let go! What are you doing!"
The man's eyes were full of malice. "An Ling, did you post those photos online? Do you think this will ruin my relationship with Wenwen?"
To hell with your stupid romance!
An Ling's head was pounding.
Waking up in a bar and facing a bunch of lunatics—was she dreaming?
"Who exactly are you..."
Before she could finish her sentence, a voice suddenly rang out in her mind.
[Character deviation detected. The plot is at its final one percent. Forcing plot completion.]
An Ling froze. Before she could react, her mouth suddenly opened on its own.
She heard her own manic laughter: "I was the one who had someone do it! Jingshen, I am the only one who loves you the most! Zhou Wen will divorce you when she sees those. She doesn't trust you. Jingshen, marry me, okay?"
After saying this, An Ling looked utterly dumbfounded.
Ignoring the man's dark expression in front of her, she blankly touched her own mouth.
What was going on? Did those disgusting words really just come out of her mouth?
But before she could process it, her eyes widened in shock as she watched her own hand grab a wine bottle from the table.
Smash! Glass shards exploded everywhere.
Lu Jingshen's pupils constricted, and he subconsciously let go of her arm.
Crimson blood trickled down his forehead, gathering at his chin, adding a touch of ruthlessness to his handsome face.
Gasps echoed around them, accompanied by the assistant's horrified cry:
"Mr. Lu!!"
An Ling held the broken bottle in a daze, completely unable to control her own mouth. "Jingshen, only in this way will you remember me. If you insist on being with Zhou Wen, then no one will have you."
Who was Zhou Wen?
What was wrong with her body? And what was that voice just now?
Could she really be dreaming?
Just as she was thinking this, the man's gnashing voice instantly rang in her ears.
"An. Ling!"
His gaze was fierce and terrifying, as if he wanted to skin her alive.
Thanks to all this bizarre madness, An Ling was now completely sober.
Just as she was about to speak, her expression changed drastically. A sharp pain pierced her head, feeling like a dense cluster of needles stabbing her.
She fell back onto the sofa in a sorry state, letting out a muffled groan as she painfully clutched her head. "Ugh..."
Unfamiliar scenes flashed before her eyes, and a massive amount of information flooded in, as if being forcibly stuffed into her brain.
Lu Jingshen, clutching the wound on his forehead, let out a cold laugh at the sight. "Don't play the victim after smashing someone's head."
An Ling's face was deathly pale. She wanted to curse him out but couldn't utter a word.
Her vision kept going dark, and finally, completely drained of strength, she collapsed onto the sofa.
At that moment, hurried footsteps sounded outside the door, and a large group of people rushed into the private room.
"Young Madam!!"
"Young Madam, are you alright?!"
...What Young Madam?
Were they calling her?
But she wasn't even married.
An Ling gasped for breath. Her ears were filled with constant chattering, and her head felt like it was going to explode.
Weak and powerless, she closed her eyes.
It was so noisy. She just wanted to sleep.
But suddenly, the noisy crowd fell dead silent.
It was as if someone had pressed the pause button. In the quiet private room, the sound of leather shoes treading over the carpet produced a muffled yet distinct rhythm.
The footsteps drew closer, and a shadow fell over her.
An Ling opened her eyes in a daze.
Under the dim lights, a man stood quietly. His figure was partially hidden in the shadows. He wore a dark, impeccably tailored suit, and his metal cufflinks reflected a cold gleam.
His long, slender fingers tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, carrying the chill of the night. A crisp, woody scent of pine washed over her.
The man's voice was deep and slow.
"Take Madam to the hospital."
An Ling's eyelids grew heavier. A second before her consciousness slipped away, only two hazy thoughts remained in her mind—
This man has really nice hands.
And a nice voice, too.
When she woke up again.
Staring at the snow-white ceiling of the hospital room, An Ling sluggishly patted her own cheeks.
"I'm doomed..."
It wasn't a dream.
Waking up, it was now two years later.
During these two years, her body had been controlled by a system.
Because she was the vicious female supporting character, the system needed her to play out the plot.
The tasks included, but were not limited to: seducing the male lead, humiliating the female lead, sowing discord, drugging people, and twisting the truth...
Now that the novel had reached its grand finale, her missions were complete, so the system returned her body to her.
An Ling took a deep breath and closed her eyes.
"This shouldn't be right... How could I be the vicious female supporting character?"
She just had a slightly bad temper and acted a bit impulsively, but she was an absolute, law-abiding good citizen!
Besides, she had face blindness and couldn't even recognize the male lead's face. How was she supposed to seduce him?
An Ling sat up. She was the only one in the massive VIP ward.
Throwing off the covers and getting out of bed, she walked to the door and was just about to open it.
Faint murmurs of a conversation drifted from outside.
"The patient in this room is Madam Shen, right? I heard Madam Shen is very gentle. How did she get so drunk yesterday?"
"You've got it wrong. The one you're talking about is the Second Madam. This one is the Eldest Madam Shen, the notoriously unreasonable and vicious daughter of the An family."
An Ling: "..."
Huh? Me?
