Chapter 156: Extra: Han Mo's Dream 02
He Huanhuan took a detour and made her way to the intersection at Beijing Road. At last, she spotted the long-overdue Qi Meili, and immediately flew into a rage.
“You’ve got some nerve showing up! Why didn’t you just come tonight? You... Hey, what happened to your eye?”
When she got closer, she saw that Qi Meili’s eye was swollen black—a solid, inky bruise that clearly came from someone’s fist.
Her anger flared instantly. “Damn it! Who hit you? I’ll call someone to hack him to death!”
Qi Meili waved her off nonchalantly. “I already hit him back.”
Her father had been cheating, and she’d caught him in the act. She’d called her stepmother over to catch them red-handed, only for her stepmother to turn around and blame her, accusing her of ruining their marriage.
That had made her so furious that she’d beaten up both of them.
She rubbed her eye. “I didn’t mean to be late. You don’t have a phone, or I would’ve told you.”
“I have a phone now!”
He Huanhuan waved her new phone around proudly, showing off to Qi Meili. “Look! My new phone! Isn’t it awesome?”
Qi Meili was stunned. “Where’d you get the money to buy a new phone?”
She knew He Huanhuan’s situation better than anyone. Whenever He Huanhuan managed to get her hands on a little money, her father always found some way to squeeze it out of her. How could she possibly afford a phone?
He Huanhuan grinned. “I scammed it out of some old guy!”
She told Qi Meili how she’d tricked Han Mo into giving her the phone. “That poser clearly wanted to pick me up. Did he really think I’d let him? What a joke! I...”
As she spoke, Qi Meili’s expression suddenly changed.
Unable to help herself, He Huanhuan asked, “Why do you keep blinking? Does it hurt?”
Qi Meili looked past her with a pained expression. “When you say ‘poser,’ do you mean a guy in a black suit, kind of old but still pretty handsome?”
He Huanhuan nodded. “How’d you know?”
Qi Meili pointed behind her. “Because he’s standing right behind you!”
He Huanhuan instantly jumped. “Crap!”
She spun around. Han Mo stood beneath the streetlamp with his arms folded, smiling as he asked, “I only wanted to add you on WeChat. Why did you run?”
He Huanhuan glared at him. “You’re too old! I don’t play with old men!”
He Huanhuan was only fifteen at the time. To her, Han Mo, who was in his twenties, really did count as an old man.
Han Mo sighed and turned away. “Fine. I was going to treat you to a bowl of spicy hot pot...”
“Wait!”
“Hold on!”
Two ravenous voices sounded behind him almost simultaneously, and the smile in Han Mo’s eyes grew impossible to suppress.
He put on a stern face and turned back around. “What is it?”
He Huanhuan swallowed. “You’re really treating us to spicy hot pot?”
Meili glanced at his handsome face and swallowed too. “I want to sit next to you while we eat!”
Han Mo nearly laughed out loud. “I really am treating you, but you can’t sit next to me.”
Anyone who didn’t know the situation might mistake him for some kind of pervert.
They picked the nearest spicy hot pot shop. He Huanhuan and Qi Meili steeled themselves and selected fifty yuan’s worth of ingredients.
The two of them whispered to each other, “Take more. If we can’t finish it, we’ll pack it up and eat it at home tonight. Let’s enjoy ourselves for once!”
Once they had everything, He Huanhuan shoved the bowl into Han Mo’s hands. “Go pay.”
The shop required customers to pay before eating, which was the only reason she dared come here with him.
What if he turned out to be a bad guy who ran off without paying after they finished? Then she and Meili would be completely screwed!
After paying, their spicy hot pot arrived soon afterward.
The two girls were too busy eating to talk. They buried their heads and dug in.
Only after the hunger in their stomachs had completely disappeared did He Huanhuan finally have time to look up at Han Mo.
“Why do you keep staring at me?”
This guy was seriously weird. Why did he keep looking at her with that smile?
Did she have flowers growing on her face?
Han Mo shook his head with a smile. “Nothing. I just didn’t expect your tattoos to look like that.”
They were quite intimidating, but also rather cute.
He Huanhuan rolled her eyes at him. “Dumbass!”
He was being so sarcastic. What did her tattoos have to do with him? Were they bothering him?
He was asking to be insulted!
The moment she finished cursing him, Han Mo handed her his phone. “Scan this and add me as a friend. I’ll transfer you some money.”
He Huanhuan frowned. “Why are you trying to give me money again? What are you up to?”
These days, who just offered to transfer money to a stranger?
Her face scrunched up. “You’re not planning to harvest my kidneys, are you?”
Han Mo shook his head helplessly. “I just want to give you some spending money.”
“That doesn’t make sense!”
He Huanhuan firmly refused to take the money. “I don’t even know you. Why are you giving me money? What do you want?”
“Can’t you just think of it as the heavens dropping a pie on your head?”
He Huanhuan immediately covered her head. “In all my life, the heavens have only ever dropped rocks on my head. They’ve never dropped pies.”
...
Han Mo truly hadn’t expected that he wouldn’t even be able to spend his money.
He turned to Qi Meili. “How about I transfer some to you?”
He knew the two girls were close, and that Meili would spend money on He Huanhuan whenever she had any.
What he didn’t expect was for Qi Meili to wipe her mouth and give him a lecherous smile.
“I’ll take your money if you let me kiss you.”
...
Han Mo was speechless. “I’m giving you money, and I still have to let you kiss me?”
Qi Meili looked perfectly justified. “What? Am I not worthy of kissing you?”
Han Mo rubbed his temples. “I’m afraid the vinegar jar at your house will come and tear my company apart.”
Liang Zheng was absurdly jealous. He wished he could get rid of every good-looking man around Meili.
If he found out that Meili had kissed Han Mo in a dream, he might charge straight into the dream and rip Han Mo’s mouth apart.
Han Mo turned to He Huanhuan. “Aren’t you two short on money? Why are you refusing when I’m trying to transfer some to you?”
He Huanhuan leaned away from him. “Because you don’t look like a good person!”
What good person wore a black suit around a county town for no reason?
What a poser!
Han Mo asked, “Then what do I have to do to look like a good person?”
He Huanhuan thought about it, then stretched out her arm. There was still one bare patch on her wrist.
“Go get a tattoo with me. Then I’ll believe you’re a good person!”
...
In the end, he still followed the two girls to a tattoo parlor.
The moment the owner saw He Huanhuan and Qi Meili, he shouted, “You two! You still haven’t paid for your tattoos from last time!”
The two girls pointed at Han Mo in perfect unison. “He’ll pay!”
The owner stared at them in surprise. “You two have started scamming old men too?”
Han Mo helplessly pulled out his phone. “They’re not scamming anyone. We’re relatives, so don’t talk about them like that.”
After paying off the money the two girls owed, He Huanhuan pushed him in front of the owner. “He wants a tattoo. Hurry up and give him one.”
The owner stared at Han Mo in shock. His suit was perfectly tailored, and he clearly looked like a successful professional.
Did someone like that get tattoos too?
Han Mo thought to himself that this was only a dream anyway. Getting a tattoo wouldn’t hurt.
Still, he chose something quite conservative. He held out his wrist to the owner.
“Just two small characters will do.”
The owner asked casually, “What characters?”
Han Mo glanced at He Huanhuan.
“Just tattoo ‘Huanhuan.’”
He Huanhuan was stunned for quite a while before finally realizing what he meant.
“Why are you tattooing my name? Don’t you have a name of your own?”
