The banking notifications flashed across his lock screen, confirming that seventy million dollars of liquid cash had just been deposited into his offshore accounts.
Despite its size, the custom Dreamliner ascended into the coastal sky with zero turbulence.
The transition was so smooth that the champagne sitting in Jude’s crystal flute didn’t even ripple.
"This is incredible," one of the younger pop stars murmured, looking around the cabin. "I’ve flown private a dozen times, but it always feels like you’re bouncing around in a tin can. I can’t even tell we’re moving!"
"That’s the beauty of a retrofitted commercial chassis," Seraphina Frost said, sinking into the recliner across from Jude with a sigh. "Mr. Lawson spared no expense. This is the pinnacle of aviation luxury."
The cabin was filled with the sound of cheerful laughter.
Jude watched his new employees enjoy themselves, feeling a quiet satisfaction.
He had completed the ’Understated Dominance’ objective simply by bringing them on board.
But the system wasn’t finished with him just yet.
[Ding!]
[Continuous Mission Triggered: Absolute High-Profile Dominance!]
[Objective: Understated elegance has its place, but true financial titans must occasionally shatter the paradigms of those around them. Execute a high-profile display of overwhelming wealth to secure absolute loyalty.]
[Reward: +1 Money Sign-In, +1 Diamond System Reward Box!]
Jude raised an eyebrow. The system wanted him to go loud.
Another Diamond Box was an incredibly rare reward... the last one had given him absolute probability and a sovereign island.
If the system was demanding a high-profile flex to earn it, Jude was more than happy to oblige...
He didn’t have to wait long for an opportunity.
A tall man in his late fifties walked up the aisle from the rear lounge area, carrying a digital tablet.
It was Richard Sterling, the Chief Financial Officer of Apex Media Group.
Richard paused beside Jude’s recliner, adjusting his glasses. He looked impressed by the plane.
"Mr. Lawson," Richard said. "I must admit, this aircraft is a masterpiece. However, as your CFO, I have a fiduciary duty to ask about the company’s current burn rate."
Jude took a sip of his champagne. "Go on, Richard."
"It’s regarding Sapphire Cove," Richard explained, tapping his tablet to pull up a spreadsheet. "I know Donovan Pierce was bragging back at the terminal, but Pierce Studios actually did manage to secure a temporary rental for two acres of beachfront on the edge of the island. It cost them fifty million dollars just for a four-day permit."
Seraphina frowned. "Fifty million for two acres? That’s extortionate."
"It’s Sapphire Cove," Richard countered. "It is the most isolated paradise in the world. Which brings me to my point, Mr. Lawson. I need to know how much of the island you rented for our summer gala, so I can balance the quarterly ledger. If we rented a larger plot than Pierce Studios, the financial hit could disrupt our Q3 earnings."
The ambient conversation in the front of the cabin slowly died down.
Several of the A-list actresses and top directors leaned in, suddenly very interested in the logistics of their destination.
Jude swirled the champagne in his glass.
"You don’t need to balance anything, Richard," Jude said.
Richard blinked. "Sir? I don’t understand. The rental fees for the island must be accounted for in the corporate registry, otherwise we risk an audit."
"There are no rental fees," Jude said.
A murmur of confusion rippled through the actresses.
Had he cheaped out? Were they not actually staying on the island?
Jude looked directly into Richard’s anxious eyes.
"I don’t rent real estate, Richard," Jude stated. "I own Sapphire Cove. The entire island. All five hundred acres, as well as the exclusive, sovereign maritime rights to the ten square nautical miles of ocean surrounding it."
Richard’s jaw dropped. The tablet slipped from his fingers.
"You... you own it?" Richard stammered. "The entire island?"
"Yes," Jude smiled faintly. "So you can delete that spreadsheet."
Richard’s eyes went wide as he calculated the math out loud.
"Pierce Studios paid fifty million dollars to rent two acres for a weekend," Richard muttered, grabbing his head. "If you own all five hundred acres... plus the sovereign sea rights... that’s... that’s a five-billion-dollar acquisition! At a minimum! And that’s assuming you could even bypass the international treaties required to purchase sovereign land!"
Five billion dollars?
The A-list actresses, who were used to dating millionaires and attending lavish Hollywood parties, suddenly realized how incredibly small their world actually was.
The man sitting in front of them hadn’t just rented a party venue; he had dropped five billion dollars to purchase a fortress just to host a summer retreat!
"Oh my god," Chloe, the lead actress, whispered, pressing her hands against her cheeks. "We are going to a private, five-billion-dollar island."
The actresses were screaming in excitement. The directors were laughing in disbelief, pouring more champagne and toasting to Jude’s name...
They had forgotten about Pierce Studios.
Donovan Pierce’s fifty-million-dollar rental was an absolute joke compared to Jude owning the entire landmass.
Richard, the cynical CFO, slowly sank into an empty chair, staring at Jude.
"I... I apologize for questioning the budget, Mr. Lawson," Richard whispered. "Your liquidity is beyond my comprehension."
Jude smiled, turning his gaze back out the window.
The system chime rang in his mind.
[Mission Completed: Absolute High-Profile Dominance!]
[Reward: +1 Money Sign-In, +1 Diamond System Reward Box!]
The rest of the two-and-a-half-hour flight passed in a blur of celebration.
The Apex Media executives and talent were riding an unbelievable high, treating Jude with a level of worship usually reserved for royalty.
As the Dreamliner began its final descent, the turquoise waters of the Caribbean came into view.
Jude looked down through the glass.
Sapphire Cove was breathtaking...
A massive expanse of lush green jungle, white sand beaches, and blue lagoons sprawled out below them.
The jet banked smoothly, lining up with a two-mile-long private runway that cut through the center of the tropical paradise.
As the jet taxied toward the private island terminal, the passengers crowded the windows, pointing and gasping in awe.
Waiting on the tarmac was a fleet of stretched, luxury golf carts and sleek black SUVs.
Standing at attention in front of the vehicles was a line of over fifty uniformed staff members.
At the head of the line stood a silver-haired man in a white linen suit... the island’s elite estate manager.
As the boarding stairs were lowered and Jude stepped out into the tropical sun, the staff bowed deeply.
"Welcome to Sapphire Cove, Mr. Lawson," the estate manager called out. "Your island is ready."
