Chapter 323: Talk with Nathan
Nathan leaned back slightly. "So what are you planning to do?"
"What do you mean?"
"Are you going to tell Lady Akari?"
Noah became silent. After a moment, he shook his head. "Not yet."
Nathan frowned slightly.
"Why?"
"Even if I become certain that this is love..." Noah’s expression became serious. "I still wouldn’t confess right away."
Nathan studied his brother’s face.
Noah clenched his fist lightly.
"She’s too strong." His voice carried a hint of determination. "I need to reach a level where I’m at least somewhat close to her strength."
He looked down at his hand. "Only then will I feel confident enough to stand before her and tell her how I feel."
Nathan remained silent for a moment.
Then a small smile appeared on his face. He stood up from the bed. "Well, if that’s what you want, then I’ll respect it."
Nathan turned toward the door. "And don’t worry. I’ll keep your little secret."
Noah chuckled. "Thanks, bro."
Nathan paused and looked back at him. "But honestly..." A teasing grin appeared on his face.
"I think you’ve already figured out how you feel. You’re just too embarrassed to admit it."
Noah’s coughed. "It’s really embarrassing, dude."
Nathan laughed. "Sure, sure."
He waved his hand dismissively. "Anyway, I should go. You need to start packing. You are heading back tomorrow for academy."
He reached the doorway before remembering something. "Oh, and Father asked you to visit him in his study. He wants to hear more about what happened to you."
Nathan’s expression became slightly more serious.
"So don’t keep him waiting."
"Sure. I’ll go see him."
Nathan nodded. Then he suddenly looked back at Noah with a suspicious expression.
"And one more thing."
Noah raised an eyebrow.
"What?"
"Don’t bring too much trouble back with you."
Noah stared at him.
Nathan sighed. "For some reason, I have a feeling you’re going to bring an even bigger disaster into our family than before."
Noah’s mouth twitched. "Tch! Have some faith in me."
He placed a hand against his chest. "I’ll handle everything. And I swear I won’t cause any more problems."
Nathan gave him a deeply skeptical look. "Yes, yes. You swear."
He shook his head. "You were always troublesome, that habit still haven’t gone away."
With that, Nathan left the room. The door closed behind him.
Noah remained sitting on the edge of his bed. Then his thoughts drifted back to what they had just discussed.
Akari and his feelings for her. A smile appeared on his face.
And then Arisha and Lyria. Noah’s expression slowly became complicated.
"Hmm."
He rubbed his chin. "Maybe I won’t bring that many problems."
He paused. "...Just tiny problems... Yeah."
He nodded to himself with complete seriousness.
"Just tiny problems..."
Unfortunately, even Noah didn’t sound particularly convinced.
Later Noah went to his father’s study and talked with him for hours before coming back to chamber. then packed things for academy, putting them in storage ring.
He also got few calls from his friends, he only send them message, let’s talk when we meet.
---
Somewhere far away from Noah’s home, in a luxurious room illuminated by the faint glow of moonlight, two figures were engaged in a quiet conversation.
"You finally decided to add a new member to our cult?"
The voice belonged to a young man with black hair. His sharp grey eyes were fixed on the man sitting casually on the edge of the window.
The other man wore a black suit and a dark mask that concealed most of his face. His short black hair was slightly tousled, and despite his relaxed posture, there was something unsettling about his presence.
He was Shadow. And tonight, he was speaking with one of his subordinates, Kaelan Nightfall.
"Yes, but not yet."
Kaelan frowned. "Then when?"
He couldn’t help wondering when Shadow planned to bring this mysterious person into their so-called cult and, more importantly, who exactly this person was.
"Hehe~ After the end of your second semester at the Academy. During the winter vacation."
Kaelan, who was sitting comfortably in a chair, crossed his arms. "Okay... then why are you telling me this right now?"
"Because before we bring that person into our cult, we need him to obtain something."
Shadow tilted his head slightly. "And you’re going to help him get it."
Kaelan stared at him suspiciously. "So, can you at least tell me who this person is? The one you want to bring into our cult... and the person you want me to help?"
"Haha. You already know him."
Shadow’s voice carried a hint of amusement.
"His name is Noah Eldritch."
Kaelan’s eyes widened.
"W-What?! Noah?"
He immediately sat up straight. "But he’s been missing for an entire month!"
Shadow casually waved his hand. "Don’t worry. He’s back."
Kaelan remained frozen for a moment. "He’s... back?"
"Yes." Shadow leaned against the window frame. "After all, I was the one who indirectly helped him return. You’ll see him at the Academy soon enough."
"How do you kn—" Kaelan suddenly stopped himself. He let out a tired sigh and rubbed his forehead.
"Forget it. You always seem to know things somehow."
He shook his head before looking at Shadow again. "So, where was he? Where did he go missing? And what exactly do you want me to help him find?"
"As for where he was..." Shadow shrugged. "I don’t know."
Kaelan stared at him in silence. Of course, he knew Shadow wasn’t actually incapable of answering. He simply didn’t want to tell him.
After dealing with Shadow for so long, Kaelan had learned that trying to pry information out of the masked man was usually a complete waste of time.
He decided not to press the matter. "Fine. Whatever."
Kaelan leaned back in his chair. "Then tell me what I’m supposed to help him find."
Shadow remained silent for a few seconds. The relaxed atmosphere suddenly became slightly heavier.
"As for what you need to help him find..."
He paused. A faint smile appeared beneath his mask.
"Hehe~ You’ll find out when the time comes."
Kaelan’s expression twitched.
"Of course..." Once again, Shadow had given him an answer without actually answering anything.
’This bastard really enjoys keeping everyone in the dark.’
But there was one thing Kaelan knew for certain. Whatever Shadow wanted Noah to obtain, it was definitely not going to be ordinary.
