Extra's Path: The Eternal Frost Monarch

Chapter 319: The Hidden Codex

"Enough eavesdropping. Come out."

Noah was already calm by now. He turned around to see whom Sefira had been addressing.

From within the woods, his dearest Akari slowly walked into view.

Her eyes were as cold as ice as she stared directly at Sefira.

"Since when have you been here?" Noah asked. He hadn’t sensed anyone nearby at all.

For some reason he felt a chill run down his spine.

"Oh, I just arrived," Akari replied calmly. "I happened to see you hugging her... and then suddenly punching her."

Her cold gaze shifted toward Sefira.

"You called her Mary. So she’s the Mary you told me about, the one who was supposed to have died while saving you?"

Noah nodded, a soft smile appearing on his face. He was simply relieved and happy that Mary was alive.

"Yes, she is. As for why she did it, I’ll tell you."

Akari raised a hand. As if she didn’t have any wish to hear explanation.

"No need. You got your Mary back, so congratulations. I don’t need any further explanation."

Noah blinked.

Akari lowered her hand. While Sefira didn’t bother much with her reaction and talked.

"Anyway, let’s put that matter aside for now. I would like to know what actually happened inside that realm."

Her voice remained indifferent, but her eyes blazed like flames as they met Akari’s cold.

"Everything. I want to know everything that happened. Don’t leave out a single detail."

Akari raised an eyebrow.

"Oh? And why should I tell you?"

She crossed her arms.

"Yes, you saved us. That’s true. But I still don’t know much about you. Shouldn’t you introduce yourself properly before asking something from us?"

Sefira let out a small sigh. "I suppose you’re not wrong."

While Akari paused for a moment before continuing.

"First about those who work for me... there are many. I don’t even know if it would be appropriate to call my group an organization. It began with me gathering information about Monarchs, Gods, and possible events concerning the future."

Her tone was surprisingly casual. "It was originally just me. But over time, it slowly grew."

She shrugged.

"I never gave it an official name, but many of my subordinates have taken to calling it the Hidden Codex."

Noah listened carefully to every word.

’She’s not exactly lying... but she’s definitely not telling the whole truth either.’

Even Akari didn’t completely believe Sefira’s explanation.

However, at the moment, she had little choice but to accept it.

Sefira was by no means an unknown existence, even among the world’s strongest beings. Yet Akari hadn’t mentioned her existence to either her father or Lionel after returning and told them that she saved both Noah and her.

That meant she intended to keep Sefira’s existence to herself for now—to understand who she really was and determine whether she could become an ally in the future.

If possible, it would be better to remain on her good side.

"It seems we’re going to have a long conversation," Akari said.

She narrowed her eyes slightly.

"I’m still not one hundred percent convinced by what you’ve told me. But honestly, I was already expecting you not to reveal your entire history."

Noah nodded. "I think it’s better if we tell her."

He glanced at Sefira. "I... believe in her. And we might be able to learn more through her."

His expression became serious.

"Especially about the Monarchs."

He glanced at Akari. "And even about your new race."

Akari sighed. "You are right, but you really trust her, Noah?"

Her voice became slightly stricter. "Don’t forget that she entered the academy using another identity and deceived everyone."

Sefira immediately raised an eyebrow.

"Oh? Are you saying I’m not trustworthy?"

She looked directly at Akari.

"First of all, I already explained why I entered the academy. And I have apologized for deceiving you. For your kind information I never apologized so easily, I know I was wrong so I did. Besides, I knew Noah long before you did."

Akari’s eyes narrowed. "Hmph. I know him better than you."

She folded her arms. "I spent seven months with him. Just the two of us, trapped in that world."

Sefira’s expression immediately changed. Her brows furrowed, as if she looked slightly displeased from her reply.

Noah couldn’t understand why her mood had suddenly changed.

But then he remembered how jealous Akari had become when she thought Noah was getting too close to her daughter.

’No way...’

"Cough!"

Noah deliberately coughed, trying to draw their attention.

Both women immediately turned toward him at the same time.

Noah flinched. ’Why do I suddenly feel like I’m standing between two predators?’

Someone like Noah who was still far away in strength compare to Sefira and Akira.

It was still unbelievable to think that they might be seeing him differently, and not just as friend or disciple.

Though he could understand Akira being jealous. But Sefira also?

For now he dismissed the possibility of Sefira having similar kind it feelings for Noah.

And whether it was love or not. He couldn’t decide.

"Listen, ladies. We should talk about this calmly."

He looked toward Sefira.

"I also want to learn more about the Monarchs, if possible. So I hope you’ll tell us what you know."

"Yes. I will."

Sefira nodded without hesitation.

Akari stared at the two of them for a moment before letting out another sigh.

"Fine. I’ll tell you."

She looked at Sefira.

"I’ll explain what happened to me and how I ended up trapped inside that realm."

Noah immediately understood why Akari had agreed so easily.

As suspicious as she was of Sefira, Akari valued knowledge even more.

If Sefira truly possessed information about Monarchs, Gods, and the future, then refusing to listen would be foolish.

"Yes," Noah added. "Later, I’ll tell you everything from my side as well."

Akari started to tell her everything from start. Every detail, without leaving anything.

Later Noah explained everything from his side once Akari was done.
